Join fellow roofing professionals at the 2020 IIBEC International Convention and Trade Show on March 26-31, 2020. The International Institute of Building Enclosure Consultants (IIBEC) has arranged over 25 hours of educational sessions, which will take place at the Marriott Marquis Houston and George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston, Texas. Learn about the latest building envelope design, repair, and maintenance techniques and technologies.
On March 27, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., Cotney Construction Law will present: Legal Issues and Potential Pitfalls that Confront Building Enclosure Consultants, Architects, Engineers, and Contractors.
The construction industry is constantly facing change. While change is good, it can also bring about legal issues. During this seven-hour presentation, attendees will learn about the potential pitfalls that can impact building enclosure consultants, architects, engineers, and contractors. They will address warranties, wage and hour compliance, best practices for hiring and firing, contract formation, and critical contract provisions.

Rick Blystone is a Florida Bar board-certified specialist in labor and employment law. He assists his clients in reviewing and preparing employee policies, handbooks, and contracts, and also develops employee/management training. Rick also helps clients with employment law questions regarding hiring, discipline, internal investigations, terminations, reasonable accommodations, FMLA compliance, non-solicitation, confidentiality, and non-compete matters.
