Learn About Fall-prevention With This Comprehensive Course

NRCA Fall Protection 5.2
May 2, 2023 at 6:00 p.m.

By Cayden Wemple.

NRCA is holding a two-day fall-prevention safety course where you will be trained to be safer on the jobsite.

Falls from heights account for one third of fatalities on job sites and National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA) is doing everything in their power to get that statistic as low as possible. The association is holding a two-day training program where attendees will be trained to be competent people on the job site. This program will prepare attendees to teach fall protection to their employees and go over the topics of:

  • The roles and responsibilities that a competent person must have for fall protection

  • How to instill fall-prevention knowhow on the jobsite

  • Train roofing employees on fall-prevention and protection protocols using pre-packaged training materials.

There will be two extremely competent instructors providing their insight at the event including Cheryl Ambrose, vice president of enterprise risk management at NRCA and Richard Trewyn, who is NRCA's director of enterprise risk management.

Cheryl is a construction safety and health professional with 25 years of experience, OSHA authorization and degrees in Occupational Safety and Health and Business Management from Columbia Southern University.

Rich also has a degree in occupational safety and health, is an authorized trainer for OSHA's construction safety classes, and an authorized CERTA trainer of torch-applied system classes, bringing a wealth of industry knowledge and expertise to NRCA where he also teaches fall-protection and CERTA train-the-trainer classes.

This year’s fall-prevention training course will take place in Elgin, Illinois on May 11-12 at the Building and Fire Code Academy. There is close by hotel accommodation where you will be able to request the Building and Fire Code academy. The price for NRCA members is $1,195 and the price for members is $1,695. If you need to cancel your attendance, you can do so up to ten days prior to the event and receive a full refund. If you do not give notice ten days prior, you may still receive a voucher for attendance at another program.
