By Shari Carlozzi, Chair, NWIR.
Maybe 2018 was such a fantastic year that you would like to see it continue on, or maybe you are anxious for a new start in 2019. Whatever your feelings, maybe the best way to kick off the new year is to review this past year:
Did something or someone inspire you? I have seen so many acts of kindness by individuals and groups of women that not only took my breath away and brought tears to my eyes but made me realize what we are really here for…to help one another. If someone has inspired you, tell them!
I remember sitting in on a newly developed NWIR council meeting last year. As each member spoke about what inspired them to become a member of NWIR, I was overwhelmed to hear a former customer mention that I was her inspiration to get involved. It blew me away and inspired me be more and do more for my colleagues, community and friends. A little inspiration can go a long way.
Maybe 2018 gave you some reasons to review your professional or personal path. Even unfortunate circumstances, mistakes, perhaps even failures when all seems lost, can inspire you to step back and review those situations from a different perspective. 2019 may be a new start for a new you…or maybe a newer version of who you want to become.
In 2018 I have had the honor and privilege to serve as the Chair of NWIR. As we continue to grow and build on our mission of empowerment of women in our industry, I am inspired daily by the women in our organization as well as those just starting their careers in the roofing industry. We are here to help you grow and succeed!
I look forward to our 2019 NWIR Day in Nashville on February 9th as we continue to celebrate accomplishments of our members, councils and the great plans we have for the future of women in our industry through scholarships, careers, education, mentorship and WORLD Award nominations.
Take a moment to think about who or what inspires you…pay it forward by inspiring others and make 2019 a great year for YOU!
My best to you,
Shari
