It Pays to Be Proactive on the Roof

The importance of roof inspections can’t be stated enough. Here are reasons to encourage your customers to invest in regular inspections.

Roofs typically don’t just fail overnight; damage is usually caused by small, hard to notice problems that spiral into major issues that can become expensive to repair. No one wants to prematurely replace their entire roof system just because they missed a small issue that could have been remedied early on.

One of the most important things about making your customers’ roofs last, along with selecting the right products, is regular roof inspections. Lack of maintenance is the single largest factor leading to premature roof failures. That is why having a systematic roof inspection and maintenance program is such a big part of the long-term care of a roof.

Educate your customers that regular roof inspections can help catch problems while they are still small and easily fixed and help protect the warranty. Inspections also allow the building owner to take timely action or create a plan to solve the problem based on the available budget. Most building owners and homeowners will agree that a free inspection is much preferred to the bill for a roof replacement.

Additionally, inspections are a great way to keep roofing materials from prematurely ending up in a landfill. On a tile roof, for example, there are usually only a few broken tiles in need of repair. An inspection can catch small issues like this before it spirals into a situation where a mandatory re-roof is necessary. This is why All Points is driven to provide local, national and international customers with the ability to identify, procure, color-match, store and deliver tiles, so that homeowners can easily replace a few tiles.

Whether the homeowner chooses to maintain, reroof or replace a roof, it is a good idea to offer roof inspections and promote to homeowners the importance of regularly getting an expert opinion. A roof is the number one thing that protects your customers, so they will never regret showing it some love and making sure it is working to its best ability.
