General Coatings Manufacturing has a series of short how-to videos currently available. Each video provides step-by-step instructions on applying spray-foam to a variety of roof drains, penetrations, decks, systems, slopes and terminations. These videos are easy to watch as they each last less than one minute and feature helpful animated visuals to guide you through the spray foam process.
In the third collection of videos, General Coatings Manufacturing Corp. demonstrates three different application methods of spray foam onto various decks. These videos, while short, are packed with helpful information that will ensure your spray foam job is done right the first time.
The deck types featured in these videos include:
Spray Foam Roof Detailing on Metal Decking
BUR Replacement Class A
Standing Seam Retrofit
Quick and informative, these videos all offer incredibly in-depth instructions on applying spray foam to roof decks. General Coatings shares tips to help you maintain code compliancy and even provides information on how many fasteners to use and the best patterns for installation. Their videos also include what must be removed before spraying foam, like an existing BUR system, or what must be applied, like a layer or rigid insulation. They even include how many inches of spray foam to apply onto a roof deck for the best results.
Choosing to insulate the underside of the roof deck with spray foam has many advantages over other insulation types, most notably is the ability of spray foam to air-seal the various roof decking assemblies. When a roof deck is sealed with spray foam it is effectively insulated and protected from potential energy loss from air gaps, voids or channels where energy can escape.
As far as commercial and flat roofing options go, spray foam roofing provides incredible durability alongside affordability. Spray foam roofing systems are also easy to install, maintain and repair.
