How to get workers to embrace construction technology – Part 2

From project management software to cloud, innovation in construction technology is allowing contractors to do more each day.

With the construction industry booming, implementation of new technology has been critical. New technology can be scary and daunting to employees. It is for these reasons that it is important to put emphasis on getting employees to both embrace technology and implement the technology.

  • If new technology is to be used by your employees, it is important to understand their technological needs. To do this, take a poll to find what part of their job could be enhanced by technology. Those answers should guide your tech investments. By listening and reacting to what your employees want, your employees will be more receptive to implementing new technology.
  • For employees to actively use new technology, they have to see it as making their jobs easier. To do this, use examples of how their jobs will be enhanced and benefited by using new technology.
  • When introducing new software, focus on a few critical functions before introducing more in-depth capabilities of the technology.
