With it being trade show season, education and learning is on the top of everyone’s minds. And, while The Coffee Shops crew loves sitting in education sessions at shows when we have the time, we know firsthand that it can be a lot of information to take in at once, especially if you’re attending multiple sessions in a row. Luckily, many presenters and folks on the trade show floor have materials that you can take home and review later, to make sure the ideas really stick. At the Western States Roofing Contractors Association’s 2024 Western Roofing Expo, Megan Ellsworth got a chance to sit down with Ben Anderson and Mindy Dahlquist from TRA Snow and Sun to see their innovative hand out.
Mindy introduced the handout, saying, “These are beautiful, educational tools that contractors are able to take for free from us and utilize. They show educational videos as you flip through each tab, and that is just to help them sell and to help educate on what snow retention is, why it's necessary and the difference between different types of products as well.” This tool, a video brochure, is a compact yet informative table tent that has a built-in video screen, as Mindy pointed out.
This is designed for contractors and architects, rather than homeowners. The goal of TRA’s video brochure is to better prepare professionals for the common homeowner question, “Why would I want to keep snow on that roof?” Ben explained, “There's still plenty of roofers out there, that still are like, ‘I know your stuff, but I don't know snow retention that well still.’ This is there to help. Just educate, help them understand.” And it’s completely designed to fit into any contractors’ schedule. Mindy shared, “It's a good way for contractors to teach themselves. They can sit, read it and listen to the videos and then put it on their shelf and come back to it later if they need to.”
