MFM Building Products has reached a notable achievement with its Ultra HT Wind & Water Seal® roofing underlayment, now certified with a UL Class A Fire Rating. This recognition highlights the product’s fire resistance, further enhancing its reputation as a dependable option for steep-slope roofing systems and re-roofing projects.
The Ultra HT underlayment is a 45-mil, self-adhering material specifically designed for durability and reliability. Its construction includes a cross-laminated polyethylene top film with a textured surface for improved walkability. Engineered to withstand high temperatures up to 250°F, it performs exceptionally well under both metal and shingle roofing systems.
In August, Ultra HT received its UL Listing as a Class A fire-resistant barrier when used in conjunction with 24 GA minimum steel or 16 oz. copper UL-listed roofing panels, as per UL 790 guidelines. This distinction marks a significant milestone for the product, expanding its applications in commercial and residential building projects.
Beyond its fire resistance, Ultra HT boasts certifications from major industry standards, including ASTM D 1970 and the Florida Building Code. It is also Miami-Dade County Approved, ICC-ES ESR-1737 certified and listed with the Texas Department of Insurance, among others. These credentials, combined with a 10-year warranty, demonstrate its reliability and suitability for diverse environments.
MFM Building Products, known for producing innovative weatherproofing and barrier solutions, manufactures Ultra HT in the United States. The company accentuates its suitability for projects such as schools, industrial buildings, offices and complex architectural structures.
