At Texas Traditions Roofing, we feel that it is very important to give back to our community. Our community is the reason that we are fortunate enough to own and operate a successful business. Giving back is the right thing to do and we founded our company on this guiding principle. In fact, it is one of our core values.
Shortly after founding our company, we may not have been in a place where we could financially give back, but we knew that we could use our skills and our trade to help so we teamed up with Community Restore. The organization was founded to organize youth and other volunteers to help homeowners in our community who have a need for exterior repairs but don’t have the ability either financially or physically to get the work done. It’s always a privilege to be able to help our neighbors.
As our company has grown and become more established in the community, we’ve empowered our team members to extend generosity to those in need. When our lead roof adviser was headed to check a roof that suffered wind damage, he learned that the homeowner was a nurse, whose husband had been away nearly five years serving in the military. When he saw her level of concern and worry, he made the decision to make the repairs at no cost to her as a thank you for her husband’s service and her sacrifice. She sent us a thank you letter afterward and shared that she has been inspired to pay the kindness forward as much as she can.
This year, we brought on a full-time marketing coordinator to manage our community relations programs. She’s connected us with our local animal shelter, and we’ve been able to bring some of the shelter dogs into our office for a day here and there. We share updates throughout the day and photos in the hopes that someone will see how great that dog is with people and want to adopt it.
She has also built a relationship with our youth soccer program where we were able to provide scholarships for the children who otherwise would not have been able to cover their registration fee. We don’t just give money either, we like to be involved. Members of our team attended a few of the Saturday game days to pass out bottled waters to the players.
We share what we do on our social media channels and sometimes through press releases because we think that it inspires others to become involved and support the causes that are important to them.
