General Coatings Supports Cal Poly Rose Parade Float with Ultra Thane Spray Foam

The Spray Foam provides a perfect surface for the float deck and makes it easy for the live roses to be added.

For the 5th year, General Coatings is proud to sponsor the Cal Poly Universities Rose Float Program. We are excited to aid the award-winning Cal Poly Pomona and San Luis Obispo teams with our Ultra Thane spray foam for its float deck substrate. Our closed cell foam is an ideal uniform surface for adhesion of dry grasses, seeds, and flax as well as for inserting live rose flower vials.

With application assistance provided by Wiltshire Urethane, the Cal Poly Team carefully crafts their rendering of an “Aquatic Aspirations” float, which will be on display during the 131st Tournament of Roses Parade presented by Honda. The Cal Poly team began foaming November 25th to guarantee a timely completion. Check it out during the parade in Pasadena on New Year’s Day!
