General Coatings Announcement

Editors Note: the following is an announcement from General Coatings.

Dear Valued Customer:

In light of the COVID-19 situation, we would like to take this opportunity to provide an update on the actions our company is taking to protect our employees, our operations, and our ability to serve you, our valued customer.

We have dedicated teams closely monitoring current events so that we may adapt quickly and in a thoughtful and measured manner. The following represents some updates as of the time of this letter: 

• Travel. Since the federal government has emphasized containment, we have implemented an indefinite moratorium on business travel. This includes a restriction on local travel and to the extent practicable, avoidance of all in-person meetings by using video conferencing and other available technology.

• Supply Chain. General Coatings has not yet experienced any disruption to its supply chain, and if we become aware of any material disruptions, we will do our best to notify you in an expeditious manner.

• Continuity Plan. As you may be aware, General Coatings has several manufacturing facilities around the country, so we have greater flexibility to continue manufacturing if local events or localized regulations impede our operations at any one facility. Our team is reviewing our business continuity plan continuously and making adjustments wherever and whenever necessary or prudent. Our top priority is maintaining the same level of service you have come to expect. Naturally, we anticipate some areas of the world where movement of goods will become restricted, but at the time of this letter, we are not experiencing any disruptions.

• Forecasting. During these unprecedented times, we ask that you inform your General Coatings representative of any changes you foresee in your demand from us. We will continue to closely monitor the situation and provide updates.

We are all working hard to adapt to this fluid situation, and we appreciate your patience and cooperation.
