Free Resources Designed to Help Homeowners Make Smarter Roofing Decisions Now Available

MRA Free Resources Designed for Homeowners
January 24, 2020 at 2:00 p.m.

By Metal Roofing Alliance.

With prime re-roofing season coming, Metal Roofing Alliance says better education is key to transforming the market.

Homeowners spend billions re-roofing their homes, with the residential roofing market predicted to hit $8.2 billion in 2020 (based on 2018 research by FMI).

Today metal roofing represents about 15 percent of the overall roofing market in the U.S. and Canada.  And, thanks to metal roofing’s benefits which include greater long-term durability and reduced environmental impacts, there is more consumer interest (and questions) than ever before about metal roofing.

“Getting a new roof is expensive. It’s not something most people want to do over and over again and yet the most popular type of roofing material in the U.S. only lasts about half as long as other options,” said Renee Ramey, Metal Roofing Alliance (MRA) Executive Director. “Better informed homeowners make good home improvement investments, which is why education and helping ensure consumers have greater access to information and the most up-to-date tools is a top priority for us.”

For homeowners looking to learn more about the roofing process, how various materials compare and arm themselves before embarking on a re-roofing project this year, the following are now available as free resources:

Free e-book: Above All Else, You Need A Great Roof. With 130 pages written by experienced roofing installers and covering everything from how to tell if you really need a new roof to how to choose an installer and evaluate warranties, this guide is a great resource for any homeowner who wants in-depth information before they consider re-roofing their home with metal (or otherwise). Free e-book: Metal Roofing Buyer’s Guide. Free e-book: Resilient Housing Guide. With increasing threats of climate extremes, there may be no more important topic in the building and home improvement industry today than how to build tougher, more resilient homes. While metal roofing is just one example of a stronger, more reliable and longer lasting material, this guide from Green Builder covers a complete range of other essential best practices for designing and building homes that can withstand Mother Nature’s fury and better protect homes.  Available for free download.

Free e-book: Sustainable Masterpieces. To truly maximize curb appeal, a great-looking roof offers much more than just skin deep beauty.
