The Solar industry is ever-changing with technology advancing each year. So what does 2017 have in store for the solar market? A recent blog post on modernize.com spells out some trends to keep an eye on in 2017.
These include:
Historically low equipment prices. Panel manufacturers predict a price reduction of nine percent.
Expansion of national installers. Companies, like Tesla’s Solar City, are expanding into additional states.
More challenges to net metering incentives. This will likely see more challenges in 2017 as utility companies feel the financial burden of paying out incentives.
New solar options that look like natural roof surfaces. Tesla introduced a solar roof with integrated cells. Expect more manufacturers to follow suit.
An increase in home charging. Expect to see more residential battery systems that perform better and offer more storage.
