Project Map It will host the "Swing Fore Recovery" charity golf tournament on November 11, 2024, at Eagles Nest Country Club in northern Baltimore, Maryland. The event, featuring sponsors like RoofersCoffeeShop® and Wagner Roofing, aims to raise funds for Roofers in Recovery, a non-profit dedicated to supporting those in the roofing and construction industries struggling with drug and alcohol addiction.
The tournament is more than just a day of golf; it offers a unique opportunity for businesses and contractors to show solidarity for a cause close to home. According to Project Map It, construction workers, particularly roofers, experience substance abuse rates nearly twice as high as those in other industries, with construction professionals accounting for about 25% of opioid-related overdose deaths.
Roofers in Recovery is committed to offering life-changing support, empowering individuals to rebuild and improve their lives. They recently expanded their services by opening a dedicated clinic, increasing their capacity to serve the industry in the fight against addiction.
Registration begins at 7:30 a.m., with an optional recovery meeting at 8 a.m., followed by a 9:30 a.m. shotgun start. Sponsors have a variety of opportunities to contribute, from sponsoring individual holes to providing tournament swag or contributing to the post-event dinner. RoofersCoffeeShop is sponsoring a foursome and we can’t wait to see you there!
For those unable to attend, Project Map It encourages tax-deductible donations to Roofers in Recovery to support their ongoing efforts. The event promises not only to foster camaraderie within the roofing community but also to bring awareness to a critical issue affecting many workers.
Register now and find other ways you can sponsor this tee-riffic event!
