3 ways the right drones can reduce labor demand

Don Kilcoyne, GAF.

Make roof inspection and estimation faster, easier, and safer with drones.

Drones are everywhere. They’re being used to film blockbuster movies and Emmy®-winning commercials, battle wildfires, geomap hard-to-reach terrain, optimize farming methods, patrol national borders, and, of course, inspect and measure residential and commercial roofs. The FAA projects that more than 7 million drones will be in use in 2020.

7 million. That’s nearly the number of motorcycles in use today and they’ve been around for more than a century. In fact, for lots of people, the discussion about buying a drone sounds a lot like the one around buying a motorcycle: “It’s really cool, but will I use it enough to justify the cost?”

I can’t advise you on whether or not to buy a motorcycle, but I can offer three great ways the Loveland Innovations IMGING drone platform can help address the number one issue facing roofing contractors — the labor shortage.

  1. Inspect and measure three times faster. The IMGING package can help you get precision measurements, 3D modeling, roof damage detection, and much more, in a third of the time it takes to do it manually.
  2. Easier estimates in less time. IMGING automatically exports data to common estimating platforms, saving your employees time and effort preparing estimates.
  3. Ladder-free inspection. A number of drone solutions can help you measure the roof. But the IMGING platform takes that convenience one step further by incorporating sophisticated damage detection tools that use A.I. to learn on the job. The more inspecting you do, the more useful the information you get. That means you can inspect a roof with both feet firmly on the ground, faster and more safely than ever before. Think of the time and money you’ll save by gathering the data you need before sending anyone up a ladder. Since IMGING’s automated flight controls use satellite imagery to automatically generate a safe flight plan for the drone, virtually anyone FAA licensed can fly a drone on the IMGING platform.

When you get the Loveland Innovations IMGING platform — drone, software, iPad and more — through GAF, you can save up to 33% with a GAF exclusive partner discount!

Your IMGING drone solution comes with everything you see here, as well as easy-to-use software and FAA licensing training at no extra charge:
