IRE Building Clinics 2024

Building clinics are your chance to see live demos from industry experts about metal roofing, exteriors, single-ply roofing and more! 

We are just days away from the International Roofing Expo (IRE) 2024! As you’re planning your time on the tradeshow floor, make sure you schedule time to attend some building clinics! These interactive demonstrations are not only engaging but are presented by industry experts in their specific field. Referred interchangeably as live building clinics or workshops, these sessions delve into diverse topics such as exteriors, metal shingle installation, standing seam, flashing, window installation and more. And the best part? Access to all these clinics is included with your Expo Pass! 

Metal roofing 

As the popularity of metal roofing continues to grow, it becomes increasingly important for contractors to understand the factors that impact material selection, panel formation and correct installation techniques to enhance contractor efficiency and ensure higher satisfaction for building owners. 

Throughout IRE, speakers from the Metal Construction Association (MCA) and Metal Roofing Alliance (MRA) delve into topics such as selecting the appropriate material for specific tasks, presenting industry-approved practices for installing metal shingles and standing seam panels, and showcasing proper on-site rollforming techniques.

Exteriors 

Mike Sloggatt, a nationally recognized subject matter expert, will lead eight presentations throughout IRE about best practices for installing various weather barriers and flashing prior to the exterior cladding, in addition to reviewing proper flashing details when replacing windows. If you’re wanting to expand your business and offer exterior work as an option to your clients, be sure to stop by one of these workshops!

Roof flashing 

Join Tony Blue for expert insights about common shingle and flashing errors and effective solutions for addressing roof-related problem areas. Whether you’re installing or overseeing roof flashing projects, attendees of these clinics will gain the knowledge to recognize and tackle common problem areas prior to installation, acquire a fundamental grasp of the rising popularity of standing seam and understand the paramount importance of accurate flashing.

Single-ply roofing 

Mike Deale and Mike Nemeth will demonstrate the essential steps and techniques for installing single-ply roofing. During these building clinics, they will highlight the importance of maintaining optimal adhesive temperatures, procedures for cleaning and priming surfaces before applying adhesives, discuss innovative solutions and more. Throughout the demonstrations, they will explore various labor-saving applications, low VOC options and introduce new tools and technology available to help roofing contractors streamline the installation process.
