Cotney Construction Law welcomes Gabriel “Gabe” D. Pinilla and Ryan K. Markham to its Denver, Colorado office.
Gabe is a seasoned, results-oriented business and construction law and litigation attorney. He specializes in using sharp legal skills and problem-solving abilities to help clients with their legal issues. He focuses on state and federal court litigation that encompasses every phase of the legal process, from pre-trial litigation through the appeals stage.
He has spent years honing his professional skills to provide solid representation for his clients and has earned the recognition of his peers as a Rising Star in Florida from Super Lawyers Magazine. Licensed to practice law in Florida, Texas and Colorado, Gabe is also a fluent Spanish speaker and is able to serve a wide range of cultures.
Ryan brings extensive experience in delay claims, mechanic’s and materialman’s liens, bond claims, defects, bid protests, contract review, contract negotiations and OSHA defense. He began his legal career in Hawaii, where he represented owner/developers, general contractors, subcontractors, material suppliers, design professionals, insurers, and sureties. He is licensed to practice in Colorado, Hawaii and Minnesota.
His experience also includes working in state government, including Hawaii’s division of OSHA, and for a construction firm. After completing law school, Ryan served as Special Assistant to the Director of the State of Hawaii Department of Labor and Industrial Relations where he also handled Public Information Officer and Legislative Coordinator duties. Ryan then served as Operations Manager/Administrator for the Hawaii Occupational Safety & Health Administration (HIOSH) before working for Nordic PCL Construction, Inc.
