Jimmy Lancaster, the founder and president of Lancaster Roofing & Construction and a firm believer in the power of making roofing fun, attested to these aspects of the Bitec business. 

Lancaster recently worked with Jon Feick, Bitec’s representative in the North Texas region, on a project using Imperflex® USA. Lancaster needed a modified bitumen distributor that could move swiftly. And when Brian Boots, an associate with SPEC Building Materials in Dallas, recommended Bitec this unique partnership was born. 

Lancaster and Feick share a common excitement for the partnership and the opportunity for projects ahead. For the project at hand, Feick recommended Bitec’s high-performance Imperflex USA base sheet applied directly to coverboard and completed with the SPM-4.5T cap sheet. The Imperflex USA base was a fitting choice to ease the installation, thanks to its self-adhering capabilities and powerful waterproofing protection. The SPM-4.5T cap sheet rounded out this watertight SBS modified system through a torch application. The dedication of all teams involved ensured that this unique product was installed at the highest standards. 

After getting to know Feick and the Bitec opportunity, Lancaster joined an elite group in being approved as an Authorized Applicator of Bitec’s products. This certification involves an application, interview and education with Bitec’s technical team on the features, instructions and best practices for success surrounding all products and services. 

Equipped with this array of knowledge, Lancaster and Feick were able to choose this project’s products for their performance capabilities and apply them with confidence. Lancaster’s installers remarked on the high-quality products and how easy they were to apply to the system. These products secured the roof, while the rest of the team secured their continued partnership together. 

“The best part of this project was the wonderful customer service. Jon was out on the site almost every day to see how the project was going and to continue building the relationship with my team. He gave great tips along the way that made the job seamless from beginning to end,” said Lancaster. 

Bitec is now Lancaster Roofing & Construction’s specialty modified bitumen distributor and is listed as a Partner on their website. “There’s a loyalty from Bitec that I am excited to rely on,” said Lancaster. 

Whether it’s exploring a roofing project or scoping out the local music scene, the pair continues to communicate weekly on what’s ahead. Feick looks forward to the modified commercial projects Lancaster Roofing & Construction has on the horizon and the possibility of working with Bitec’s partner, TOPPS Products, Inc., on coatings projects. Likewise, Lancaster looks forward to seeing Bitec’s continued dedication to detail and support within every project. 

“When we were short on cap sheets, I started to panic, but then I turned around and Jon had already brought in five extra rolls just in case. I was glad to see just how much he was looking out for us and the success of our project,” said Lancaster on the lasting memories of this first project with Bitec.
