Every year sees the release of innovative equipment that makes contractors' work processes easier by leveraging new technologies. In this episode of Roofing Road Trips®, Heidi J. Ellsworth sat down with Dave Beiler of Equipter to hear all about their history of innovation and what to expect from them in the new year!
Equipter has been setting the standard in the industry for the last two decades. It was founded in 2004 by Aaron Beiler (Dave’s dad!) who had owned and operated a roofing replacement business for 15 years prior. It was in those years that Aaron realized that no matter how hard he and his sons worked, the removal process of tearing off a roof was inefficient and troublesome. Dave explained, “For years, the method was either more hands to carry the debris off the roof, or a tarp, or get your trailer, or dump truck, or whatever you can, as close as you can.”
So Aaron developed a solution to the issue and Equipter was born. First known as the Roofer’s Buggy and then RB4000, the Equipter 4000 lift revolutionized the industry. As a mobile, lifting trailer, it allows contractors to bring the debris container to the roof, rather than having to send people back and forth between the roof and a dumpster on the road. But the Beilers didn’t just stop with the Equipter 4000, as Dave explained, “What we're really all about is innovative equipment to help contractors do their jobs more efficiently, safer and cleaner.”
As a part of this mission to serve contractors and make the roofing process better with equipment, Dave and the team at Equipter have developed the next generation of their original Equipter 4000 — the Equipter 7000! This project has been in the engineering works for the last five years and production is primed to begin in 2025. Dave shared a bit about it, saying, “The 7000 takes things to the next level in many ways. For one, its lifting height. It goes twice as high as the 4000.” Additionally, it includes a lot of newer technology making it a more capable version of the original. One example of this is the debris container. On the 7000 you can interchange the container with forks that can lift new materials onto the roof, making it not only perfect for the removal process but also the installation process!
