ColorGard (utilizing a strip of actual roof material) comes in 8.00' long sections, pre-punched or unpunched configurations. Splices are included with ColorGard for adjacent sections. For use with all S-5! standard clamps, or VersaBracket™ and CorruBracket™ for face-attached roof profiles. 

Punched ColorGard is pre-punched with slotted holes 4" on center for attachment at seams that are spaced accordingly, i.e., divisible by 4". The slotted configuration works well with S-5! clamps.  

Unpunched ColorGard is versatile and easy to install with the S-5! VersaClip™. Unpunched does not need holes as the VersaClip accommodates any seam spacing. The unpunched configuration is the right choice when the roof is laid out with untrue seam spacing or when the seam spacing is not divisible by 4”. If in doubt, use unpunched and VersaClip.  

Purchased separately, VersaClip makes installation easy as it simply slides on the ColorGard crossmember with a positive male-female interlock. It can be used with all S-5! clamps (one per clamp), and with CorruBracket and VersaBracket. VersaClip is also handy when installing ColorGard askew, such as is required in the valleys between intersecting rooflines.

How does it work? 

Like all snow retention systems, ColorGard interfaces with the snowbank at its base — where its compressive strength is greatest. The system is engineered to provide adequate resistance to the forces (gravity loads) that cause snowbanks to avalanche from sloped slippery surfaces. Due to the monolithic nature of snowpack, the obstruction of ColorGard which is only a few inches in height, can hold many feet of snow in place, preventing a dangerous and damaging rooftop avalanche. 

How is it installed/used?   

ColorGard attaches to S-5! seam clamps (or S-5! brackets for face-attached metal roofs) with tested and engineered holding strength. The installation is done with minimum tools common to the trade. It commonly installs complete at rates of under 20 feet/man hour on walkable roofs. All materials and workmanship are warranted for the life of the roof. A system installation warranty is also available and wet-stamped system certification can be provided for any project.
