Colorbiotics Launches Peak 301 Asphalt Shingle Rejuvenator

Soybean oil-based product improves aesthetics and protects shingles from damaging UV rays and hail, adding five to eight years to aging roofs.  

Colorbiotics entered the asphalt industry in 2020 with an all-natural asphalt rejuvenator designed to dramatically increase the recyclability and durability of asphalt pavement. Now, that same combination of sustainability and science is behind Colorbiotics’ Peak 301 asphalt shingle spray-on revitalizer, which refreshes a roof’s appearance and adds years of protection from damaging weather elements. It can be applied for about 15% of what a complete replacement would cost.   

Peak 301’s formula is created specifically to soften the asphalt holding the shingle together and restore flexibility by nearly 50%. If an asphalt shingle is left untreated, it could become worn and brittle and lose its grit, compromising the protection from rain, hail and damaging UV rays. Peak 301 doesn’t just coat the shingles; it penetrates deep down to flush out the breakable elements and strengthen from the inside out, adding five to eight more years to a roof’s life. The Colorbiotics product is expected to outperform similar ones on the market. 

“We had Peak 301 independently tested against competitive spray-on shingle rejuvenators,” said Kent Rotert, vice president of Colorbiotics. “Peak 301 proved to have better grit retention after the application, meaning it had a healthier balance of flexibility and durability.”  

Because Peak 301 is soybean-oil based, it is friendly for the environment but also harmless for people and pets in case of runoff.
