Chicago Roofing Contractors Association (CRCA) Fall 2018 News: New Affiliate Relations Committee and Septembership Campaign

CRCA is working to grow membership and establish relationships with other industry associations.

Under the guidance of CRCA President Troy Wormley, CRCA Board Member Shawn Sullivan and CRCA Associate Member Paul Larson, CRCA’s newly formed Affiliate Relations Committee was created to nurture relationships among CRCA members and other associations and organizations within similar industries. The Affiliate Relations Committee not only wants to host networking event for our members to get to know each other, but we believe that by combining resources with other organizations, CRCA will be able to provide more educational opportunities to its members.

The Committee is hosting a kick-off event to jump start these relationships between the CRCA and other associations. The event is going to be on the evening of November 5th, 6-8 pm, at Pinstripes in Oak Brook. The Affiliate Relations Committee feels this will be a great opportunity for individuals in several organizations to network and communicate about where they envision this committee. Septembership

The CRCA Membership Committee has launched the ‘Septembership’ membership campaign. Every day, your dues are paying for the work it takes for CRCA to work on your behalf. We need you to keep doing what we do. We also need the companies that are not members – but should be – to join CRCA. Send us the contact information of a contractor company or roof consultant, that’s not a member, and we’ll get in touch with them. Remember, it’s ‘Septembership’ until December is done!  If a new member uses you as a reference, you receive $100! The deadline for application receipt is Friday, Nov. 9 th .

Here are some of the many benefits for a company to become a CRCA Member:

• Website Listing at CRCA.org, gets you found online by potential customers.
• Membership Meetings provide education and networking opportunities.
• Committee Participation keeps you and your company in the forefront of local, state and national actions at code development and advocacy on behalf of the industry.
• CRCA Municipality Survey – CRCA researches code requirements at various jurisdictions and publishes the results in the Members Only Section at CRCA.org. We also provide the link to CRCA’s website where they’ll find you, the professional roofing contractor.
• CRCA’s Advocacy - At the State of Illinois, CRCA brought clarifications that help your customer comply with roofing requirements. At the City of Chicago, this meant a 2016 Code Memorandum that clarified unclear code language that drives your customers crazy.
