Today, CertainTeed, a leading North American manufacturer of sustainable building materials, is excited to announce it has expanded Landmark Solaris® AR, the cool roof version of its popular Landmark shingle, throughout all regions of the United States and Canada in two rich, authentic colors: Graphite and Weathered Wood.
Solaris, an industry-first technology developed by CertainTeed, features a special granule surface blend that partially reflects solar energy, making your roof cooler than standard roofing shingles. It’s ecologically smart, beautifully durable and architecturally ideal for homes in sunny climates or locations where solar heat is a challenge. What’s more: Landmark Solaris AR comes equipped with StreakFighter technology – copper-infused surface granules that possess natural anti-algae properties to help roofs maintain their beauty and original color. The national launch builds on the tremendous success of the two colors in the west region.
“Climate change and the new normal of extreme weather has driven an even greater demand for reflective roofing solutions, especially in light of cool roof policies in major cities and code-driven changes to help reduce the environmental impact of roofing solutions,” said Amanda Boyer, product manager at CertainTeed. “The Landmark Solaris portfolio gives consumers an option to reduce their carbon footprint and energy bills, all while boosting the curb appeal of their home.”
Manufactured to the highest roofing quality standards and backed by the industry’s best warranty, the Landmark Solaris AR Cool Roof features Solar Reflectivity Index (SRI) values that meet and exceed code compliance standards for energy reflectivity. It also features CertainTeed’s proven NailTrak, QuadraBond, and CertaSeal technologies for more efficient and seamless installation.
Graphite provides a soft, gray look to compliment any color siding and is the perfect choice for homeowners seeking the bolder look of a dark colored roof.
Weathered Wood is a mix of gray and brown hues giving roofs depth and dimension of true wood shake for a more traditional look.
