At the 2024 International Roofing Expo (IRE), the RoofersCoffeeShop® crew stopped by the Air Vent and Gibraltar Building Accessories booth to check out the equipment they brought to the trade show floor for attendees to check out. Paul Scelsi, marketing and communications manager for Air Vent, walked the crew through the special items showcased on the floor.
Paul demonstrated how they use a smokehouse display model to simulate proper and improper attic ventilation, emphasizing the necessity for proper ventilation systems. The smokehouse is a machine that produces smoke within a clear dome meant to represent heat and moisture trapped within an attic. Paul shared, “The message of this demonstration is that in order to properly get rid of the heat and moisture in an attic, you need proper intake and exhaust ventilation. Use a ridge vent that has an external wind baffle.”
For over 20 years, Paul has served as the seminar leader for the Attic Ventilation: Ask the Expert™ series, where he tours the nation presenting seminars for industry professionals. The seminar series highlights the benefits of quality attic ventilation systems and how to install these systems to get the best results for ultimate customer satisfaction. Paul walks attendees through his best tips and tricks for installing systems, calculating proper ventilation and more!
While the 2024 seminar tour has recently ended, there will certainly be plenty of opportunities for industry professionals interested in attending to grab tickets for the next tour!
