Calling all roofing professionals!

NRCA Roofing Day in D.C. 2024
March 17, 2024 at 6:00 p.m.

By Dani Sheehan.

Join us in advocating for our industry during Roofing Day in Washington D.C. this April.

Are you ready to make your voice heard? Have you already registered to attend Roofing Day with the National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA) in Washington D.C. on April 16 and 17, 2024? Each year, the roofing industry comes together for two days of advocacy on crucial issues affecting our sector. With nearly one million employees, we play an essential role in addressing affordable housing shortages and maintaining critical infrastructure nationwide. Our industry’s presence in the nation’s capital is more important than ever – who else understands the challenges we face every day?

Why should you join us?

As roofing professionals, we see firsthand the challenges facing the industry, from workforce shortages to tax uncertainty and the need for innovation. Our collective action on Capitol Hill can make a real difference in shaping policies that support our business, employees and communities.

Advocacy priorities

The key issues we’ll be advocating for include:

1 – Addressing workforce shortages

2 – Balanced immigration reform

  • We support the Essential Workers for Economic Advancement Act (H.R. 3734), which aims to establish a visa system that meets the demands of our 21st century economy.
  • Qualified individuals working under Temporary Protected Status or the DACA program should be able to adjust to lawful permanent status, enabling them to continue contributing to our communities.

3 – Main Street Tax Certainty Act (H.R. 4721/S. 1706)

  • This act is vital for maintaining Section 199A deduction, which allows individually and family owned businesses, including many in the roofing industry, to reinvest in their employees and communities.

4 – American Innovation and R&D Competitiveness Act (H.R. 2673/S. 866)

  • Permanently restoring the ability for businesses to immediately deduct research and development expenses is crucial for fostering innovation and economic growth. We call on Congress to support bipartisan legislation that ensures the tax code supports American innovation.

Join us this year as we advocate for the future of our industry and the livelihoods of millions of Americans who depend on it. Registration ends March 29, 2024, so secure your spot soon! Together, we can make a difference and ensure that our voices are heard by policymakers.

Register today and learn more about the 2024 advocacy issues focusing on workforce challenges and pro-growth tax reform. We can’t wait to stand by your side as we address these critical issues!
