GCP Applied Technologies (NYSE: GCP), a leading global provider of construction products technologies, announced that its building materials were used in the renovation of the This Old House® Jamestown, Rhode Island project, which aired recently, as well as for the construction of the This Old House® 2018 Idea House.
GCP’s flagship product, GRACE ICE & WATER SHIELD® self-adhered roofing underlayment, VYCOR® enV-S™ self-adhered weather-resistive barrier, and VYCOR® Pro self-adhered flashing were featured on the 40th season of This Old House®. The new season features the renovation of a century-old New England cottage in Jamestown, Rhode Island. The team restores the home's charm while also making it energy efficient. The episode that includes GCP’s products is entitled “Ramp Up the R Value”, Episode 3805 and aired on PBS beginning November 1, 2018. Watch it here.
The This Old House® 2018 Idea House in Narragansett, Rhode Island will also feature GRACE ICE & WATER SHIELD® self-adhered roofing underlayment on the roof of the home and garage. The Idea House was featured in the October and November/December issues of This Old House Magazine and will be in segments of the 2018-2019 television season.
“It is always a pleasure working with the This Old House® crew, a highly trusted brand and team of respected home renovation experts,” said Sonya Santos, Senior Director of Customer & Digital Marketing for GCP Applied Technologies. “We are proud that they chose GCP’s flagship ICE & WATER SHIELD® roofing underlayment and our line of VYCOR® flashing products again this year to protect these coastal homes from Mother Nature.”
GRACE ICE & WATER SHIELD®, the original self-adhered roofing underlayment, protects roofs from extreme weather such as wind-driven rain and ice dams. The underlayment seals around the fasteners used to attach the shingles, which helps prevent water buildup from leaking into the house. This premier underlayment also sticks to the roof deck to keep water from traveling under the underlayment and entering the house via a vulnerable roof deck joint. GCP’s advanced alternative to house wraps, VYCOR® enV-S™ weather barrier and VYCOR® Pro self-adhered flashing represent the latest in residential building science, creating an air-tight, yet breathable home.
