Building a dynasty using IKO shingles

IKO Building a dynasty using IKO shingles
July 29, 2024 at 3:00 a.m.

By Emma Peterson.

How high-performance IKO shingles are saving contractors time and providing peace of mind.

IKO is a proven leader in the shingle market and continually invests in innovative technologies and quality manufacturing to meet the needs of any and all customers. One such customer is C&C Roofing. A northwest-based roofing contractor, C&C has been around for over 25 years now and now serves Washington, Oregon and Idaho. Cesar Torres, the vice president of C&C shared a bit of how IKO helps his team out.

Their standard shingle of choice has been the IKO Dynasty for years. Cesar likes this product because of the way it handles the high winds he and his customers experience. He explained, “We're prone to a lot of high winds but lately we've been having more than the norm. We've had probably four strong wind gusts between 80 to 125 miles per hour.” These shingles also have a myriad of other benefits. Cesar highlighted the large nailing zone and the tear-resistant band that runs underneath the shingles. He then went on to talk about the FastLock sealant on the Dynasty shingles, which allow for installation no matter the temperature or the wind speed.

Cesar gave an example of a project they did in 2022 and how the FastLock sealant came in key. His team was doing a roof tear off and when they began installing the new shingles the weather took a turn and they were experiencing 18-25 mile-per-hour winds and gusts. But the Dynasty shingles with FastLock sealant stayed strong. Cesar explained, “I checked the following day to see if I saw anything going off of the roof. It was sealed, I didn’t have to worry about having a crew go back and do another repair. It not only saved us time but gave us peace of mind.”
