Whether it’s because of improved technology or government subsidies, solar roofing is growing exponentially. Many roofing companies may be interested in integrating solar into their business but might not know the best place to start. In a recent episode of Coffee Conversations, we spoke with representatives from ABC Supply about how they began distributing solar products and what advice they have for other businesses.
ABC Supply is the largest wholesale distributor of select exterior and interior building products in the North America, and they have been making major strides in offering renewable energy products. Ever since they began distributing solar panels, inverters, racking, and batteries, they’ve also been working with contractors to help them sell solar to their customers.
Vice President of Renewable Energy for ABC Supply, James Mason, said, “We provide the education and vendor partnerships for our customers. We help them grow their businesses.”
Business Development Manager for ABC Supply, Eric Cieslak, told us about how solar technology has vastly improved over the years. When he was integrating solar into his roofing business in 2010, he described the landscape of solar roofing as the wild west. Today, he says the technology has made solar roofing much more cost-efficient and easier to install.
“The whole avenue of solar has changed so much that it's going to be the future and now is the right time to get started.”
