Being Present Matters More Than Anything Else in D.C.

RCS Influencer McKay Daniels says that an in-person visit from a constituent is the most effective way to be heard by Congress.

Hey everybody, McKay Daniels here with NRCA. I just wanted to take a brief second to urge you to attend Roofing Day in D.C. coming up here in a couple of weeks. Prior to joining the roofing industry, I used to actually work for Congress. I'm recovering, I'm in therapy, but first in the Senate and then in the House and during my decade or so on Capitol Hill, I saw firsthand the importance of constituents coming from back home and sitting down to have their voices be heard. There is no more effective lobbyist, no more valuable resource than you. While D.C. lobbyists may get a lot of attention or there's a mystery surrounding them, let me tell you that a constituent coming in and sitting down, that matters more than anything else.

And so, take a few days out of your schedule if you can spare it, come on out to Washington. It's a really important effort. You'll have a great time. You'll find it very interesting. Everybody that goes each year really comes back with great reviews, really enjoys it, and we could use you. So come. Make your voice be heard. Hope to see you in Washington.
