Metal roofs and walls have such a nice look, but when the sealant used doesn’t match, they can stick out like a sore thumb. As a contractor, you want to ensure your customer that their metal roof or walls are going to look nice and clean, which means having the sealant match the color of the metal panel. In a recent podcast, we spoke with Darci Kunard, national accounts manager for Franklin International, about their new color matching service for contractors.
Home and building owners are turning to metal for a variety of reasons, including its durability and sustainability. But another big reason why metal is so popular is simply that it looks nice. “You're seeing a lot of people gravitate towards it because it is more modern looking,” Darci says. “It comes in a variety of colors. There's a lot of manufacturers of it and it's just one of those more versatile materials.”
Because metal can come in so many colors, it can be difficult for contractors to find a matching sealant, but it is important nonetheless. On the Titebond website, you’ll see their color matching page to find out which sealant matches the color of your roofing or siding panel. You can input the sealant you’d like to use and the manufacturer of your metal panels and the site will tell you which color matches your panel. And they can even do custom color matching if you contact them directly!
Aside from being able to match the metal panels, Titebond’s metal roof sealant also performs really well. Their WeatherMaster Metal Roof Sealant can withstand any weather conditions and has even passed the Miami Dade certification. “We saw this need to come out with a metal roof sealant, and the reason that it’s different is our metal roof sealant sticks to coated metals. So when you already have painted or coated metals, not all sealants stick to it,” Darci says.
