ATAS International Celebrates 60 Years With Open House, Tours and Education

We were delighted to attend the ATAS International open house event that celebrated their 60th anniversary!

From humble beginnings in the basement of Jack Bus’ home in Rochester, New York, ATAS International has grown to have multiple locations throughout the U.S. with hundreds of thousands of square feet of manufacturing space.

The morning of the event featured the Expanding Your Toolbox Expo with vendors showcasing new products, tools and services. In addition to the expo, those seeking AIA credits had the chance to attend educational sessions and also take a comprehensive tour of the manufacturing plant at the company headquarters in Allentown, Pennsylvania. It was a very impressive operation.

Attendees saw the sustainable Inspire Wall that ATAS has installed on the facility that manufactures the panel. The wall panels can maintain a comfortable temperature inside the building year-round, keeping building heating costs to a minimal $300 per year. The company is committed to sustainability and also installed a 620.1 kilowatt photovoltaic roof array on the same facility. According to the information provided the system generates 743,220 kWh of clean energy each year, which will prevent 441 metric tons of CO2 from entering the atmosphere.

Additionally, the company has a photovoltaic array on its Mesa, Arizona facility that generates 297,930 kilowatt hours of clean energy annually and prevents 210 metric tons of CO2 from entering the atmosphere.

After lunch, guests chose from activities including golf, shooting sporting clays or axe throwing. Following afternoon activities an awards dinner was held where the winners of the 2022 Projects of the Year were recognized.

On day two, the celebration continued at the company’s BRIGHTSMITH Coaters location in Morrisville, Pennsylvania where facility tours were held, and a ribbon cutting was held for their Innovation in Solar Technologies initiative.
