Associations Give Contractors a Collective Voice

RCS Influencer Rudy Gutierrez says that contractors need to speak up when it comes to governmental issues and regulations.

Shell Roofing Solutions Group is involved with the Los Angeles Latino Chamber of Commerce. We are working on local and state government to ensure that minority-owned businesses are afforded the same opportunities to bid on projects as the large firms. 

Through the NRCA we are involved in Roofing Day. We are advocating on behalf of the association membership for Work Force Development and Immigration Reform. We have visited Washington D.C. and spoken to our Congress Representative as well as our State Senators to move forward with reform. We will be attending Roofing Day on April 3rd and 4th in Washington D.C.

My recommendation for contractors to get involved is to speak out and be heard. Join the NRCA and Roofing Day. Be a leader for the next generation of roofing contractors.

Advocating for our industry is part of what it is to be a professional roofing contractor. It must be about the bigger picture. It must be about the next generation of roofers.

Representation by industry associations is very rewarding and at the same time beneficial. It’s a benefit to our company, education, technical support, government advocacy and most important, comradery with our contractor friends.
