By National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA).
NRCA ProCertification is a simple three-step process where you can demonstrate your substantial roofing skills and knowledge and become certified by NRCA in specific roof system installations. The installer simply takes a knowledge exam to verify that they have basic knowledge in steep-slope or low-slope roofing. It's not proctored so they can take it multiple times from anywhere online. Then apply to be certified, having the employer verify that the installer has two years' experience. The final step is to roof a mock-up for a qualified assessor.
This year during the Las Vegas 2021 International Roofing Expo® the NRCA is offering FREE hands-on performance exams for roof system installers interested in becoming certified in clay and concrete tile or thermoplastic systems. Participants will also receive free IRE exhibit hall passes!
To participate in a free hands-on performance exam during the 2021 IRE, you must have an approved NRCA ProCertification Roof System Installer application on file with NRCA, as well as pass the appropriate online knowledge exam.
Roofing professionals who want to test their readiness for NRCA ProCertification are encouraged to take free knowledge exams at a computer station operated by NRCA staff in the Mariner's B room. Available in English and Spanish, the online knowledge exam assesses an installer's knowledge of low- or steep-slope roof systems and safety. Advance registration is not required to take the online knowledge exam.
Installer candidates must register by July 30 to take advantage of this unique opportunity. Availability is on a first-come, first-served basis, and space is limited.
