ARCA’s 50-Year Celebration

Seminars, demonstrations, and tournaments were just a portion of the Annual Roofing Expo events.

Established in 1969, the Arizona Roofing Contractors Association (ARCA) celebrated 50 years serving the roofing industry this year.  The roofing community came together in Flagstaff, Arizona to honor ARCA at the 50th Annual Roofing Expo.  The three-day event was packed with seminars, networking opportunities, and competitions.

“ARCA staff and the expo committee would like to say ‘thank you’ to everyone that joined us...and to all the sponsors we appreciate your continued support of ARCA and ARIF [Arizona Roofing Industry Foundation]!”  Whether you were there in Flagstaff or were unable to attend, check out photos from the event.  It’s safe to say fun was had by all.  

As Arizona’s only roofing expo and tradeshow, there were plenty of opportunities to network, industry-specific educational seminars, entertaining sporting events, a roofer’s auction, awards, and more.  Although the schedule differed slightly than before, nobody seemed to mind.  

The Sporting Clay Tournament took place Thursday, while the next day was dedicated to the golf tournament, and Saturday was the tradeshow.  Additional festivities included cornhole and horseshoe tournaments, a Bingo Social, mixers, and even a casino night. Another highlight was the ARCA benefit raffle, a “Tribute to the American Roofer.”  A Special Edition Marlin 1895G in caliber 45-70 was raffled off to support the ARIF Scholarship Fund. 

Between Friday and Saturday there were four different seminar topics.  Friday was devoted to “Estimating Using CAD Programs and Spreadsheets,” “Design Versus Construction Reality,” and the two part seminar “D.I.S.C. How to Use Your Personality Assessment.”  Saturday’s focus was, “Insurance 101 — Truly Understanding Your Insurance Needs and Company Exposure to Liability.” And they’re already planning for next year’s event.
