A Year of Accomplishments for WSRCA

WSRCA Year of Accomplishments
January 12, 2022 at 6:00 p.m.

By Evelyn Witterholt, RCS Reporter.

The WSRCA stayed busy with expos, webinars and magazines, all of which are highlighted in Part 2 of their 2021 Year in Review.

Providing value to members has always been a top priority of the Western States Roofing Contractors Association (WSRCA), and 2021 was no exception. With all the material and labor shortages the roofing industry is facing, the WSRCA provided its members with as many timely resources as possible. This past year they accomplished so much, we couldn’t fit it all in one article. Read Part 1 of their Year in Review here.

In Part 2 of their Year in Review, they highlight all of what they’ve been up to in July through December and just how much resources they are offering their members. The WSRCA acknowledges their members’ needs to “become better roof technicians, navigate their company both safely and legally and become better business people.”

Here’s some of their year-end happenings which highlight the value of being a WSRCA member:

Western Roofing Expo

One of the ways the WSRCA has brought members of the roofing industry together this past year was with their massively successful Western Roofing Expo. Thousands of people attended the expo which took place September 21-23 in Las Vegas. The expo was full of exciting events such as golf and clay sporting tournaments, a silent auction, a trade show floor and more!

More information about the highly successful event can be found here.

A View From the Hill

Some members of the WSRCA likely want to keep up with legislative updates affecting the industry. They can access information provided by Craig Brightup from The Brightup Group in the WSRCA’s “A View From the Hill” blog post series. In Q3, Brightup discusses the fate of infrastructure bills and in Q4, he addresses supply chain issues.

Davis Memorial Foundation Scholarship

The year in review highlights the WSRCA’s Davis Memorial Foundation Scholarship for students who want to get into the roofing and construction industry. Since 1997, they have offered this scholarship to students all over the country. At the Western Roofing Expo, the WSRCA awarded 10 students a $5000 scholarship.
