In a recent RoofersCoffeeShop Sound Stage interview, host Karen Edwards spoke with Kevin from Tubos Inc. at the Florida Roofing Expo. Tubos, a unique pipe extension for plumbing stacks on roofs, was highlighted as a game-changing product for roofing contractors. 

Kevin, an experienced roofer, shared the inception story of Tubos. "It's a pipe extension for plumbing stacks on flat roofs or even pitched ones," Kevin explained. Tubos originated from Kevin's frustration with traditional methods. “One of my customers had a job in Louisiana, and we used to roll steel and put it in pipes. It was very cumbersome. We thought about it for about a year and then decided to focus on Tubos about 15 years ago." 

Tubos simplifies the process of raising pipes to code height, particularly useful when adding insulation or other materials to a roof. The product's innovative design ensures durability and ease of installation. Kevin demonstrated the new 5-inch Tubos, which can be cut to size and inserted into existing pipes. “This will never leak. It's got an insert which acts like a downspout,” he noted, proudly mentioning that in 15 years, Tubos has had zero warranty calls. 

The convenience Tubos offers is unmatched. Unlike traditional no-hub connections that can weaken over time, Tubos remains sturdy. Kevin emphasized, "It eliminates one more headache that contractors deal with on the roof." The product's reliability means fewer warranty calls, a significant advantage in the roofing industry. “Nobody wants to get called back,” Kevin said.
