The Defender TU from TopShield® is your answer to a need for a tile roof underlayment that resists high temperatures. The SBS modified-bitumen membrane was designed specifically for steep-slope slate tile roofs and is able to withstand high temperature exposure of up to 257 °F (125 °C).
Defender TU is made of two equally strong layers of protection and strength for maximum underlayment efficiency. Its non-woven polyester top face makes it the ideal underlayment for tile, metal and asphalt-shingle roofs. The underface is self-adhesive with a silicone split-back release film, allowing for an easy and clean installation process.
Another feature of the Defender TU is that it’s great for foam applications and mechanically attached tiles. Its self-sealing properties help seal the membrane around any nails or screws. And it also has anti-slip surface, which paired with its self-adhesive underface makes for a safe and easy installation process.
Amongst the Defender TU’s standards and approvals are:
ASTM D1970
ASTM D5602
Florida Building Code Approved
TDI Listed
Miami-Dade County Approved
