AkzoNobel has officially announced Sweet Embrace as its Color of the Year for 2024, targeting professionals in the architecture and domestic appliances (DA) sectors. This choice, a pastel pink, draws inspiration from the elegance of soft feathers and evening clouds that radiate peace and happiness.
Henri Bijsterbosch, AkzoNobel’s Color Marketing Manager, revealed that the selection of Sweet Embrace was grounded in extensive research into the anticipated social, design and consumer trends for 2024. This initiative highlights a universal pursuit for environments that provide comfort in daily life with moments of joy, offering industry and consumer color selections backed by specialized knowledge.
AkzoNobel’s Global Aesthetic Center has three versatile color palettes that capture the essence of belonging, calm and joy. These palettes, developed to support professionals in the construction and DA industries, offer a wide range of choices. They align with modern design sensibilities, aesthetic value and longevity. The palettes include warm, earthy tones that represent the coziness of home, soothing greens and blues reminiscent of the natural world, and vibrant lilacs, grays and yellows to inspire creativity.
With the introduction of Sweet Embrace and its associated color stories, AkzoNobel aspires to set new standards in color innovation, addressing the dynamic design preferences with a suite of superior coil and extrusion products such as TRINAR™, CERAM-A-STAR™ and POLYDURE™.
AkzoNobel invites industry professionals and the public to explore the Color of the Year 2024 and its design implications further by visiting the ColourFutures website and participating in the #CF24 conversation on social media, thereby providing a rich resource for design inspiration and contemporary industry insights.
