One of the Western States Roofing Contractors Association’s (WSRCA) goals for 2019 was to, “continue driving greater value to being a member of the Association.” The roofing industry is competitive, and WSRCA members are constantly looking for ways to improve, becoming better technicians and better business people.
The WSRCA works hard to educate the industry with their informative and technical bulletins. Different WSRCA Committees are responsible for contributing to those bulletins. Their work is, “changing the face of roofing, not only in the west, but all across the country…”
WSRCA believes that, “complimenting sound technical information along with prudent business practices, the WSRCA will continue to lead the industry as it has for the past 46 years!” In their latest bulletin, WSRCA shared numerous articles about roofing tips, a recap from the Western Roofing Expo, new member benefits, political news and updates, and legal advice.
The Low Slope Committee discloses information on condensation potential and damage related to white and light-colored roof systems. In the same bulletin, the Industry Issues Committee shares an informational bulletin about how IBC and ASCE-7 are changing, and a technical bulletin about SBS polymer modified asphalt roofing rolled-goods.
WSRCA member benefits are revealed by the Member Services Committee. New member benefits, networking opportunities, new partnerships, and information about their mobile safety solutions can all be found in the latest bulletin.
There are 12 different blogs featured under ‘Roof Talk’ WSRCAs Blog for Roofers in just one bulletin! Topics include: roof coating review, fighting the opioid epidemic, roof wind speeds, and OSHA programs on post-incident drug testing and safety incentives, among others.
From, A View from the Hill: Political News and Updates, members can read about the midterm elections, Washington’s fall agenda, the proposed Department of Labor overtime rule, and learn more about Roofing Day in Washington, D.C.
WSRCA members are informed about current legal issues and better business practices. The legal information shared in Contractors Counsel: Legal Talk, focuses on Form I-9, needed care when using drones, and information about California’s “gig worker” law. The Sales and Business Coaching section shares five ways to hire salespeople better, and five steps to build a predictable sales model.
All of this information is easily accessible and FREE to WSRCA members. These bulletins are filled with great articles and blogs that will help keep members informed on the latest industry news, legal issues associated with the industry, political updates, and suggestions on how to continue building a successful business.
