14 commercial roofers win big at IRE

Roof coating contractors win free training modules, courtesy of General Coatings and the Roof Coatings Manufacturers Association. 

The winners have been chosen for our roof coatings training raffle! We hosted a business card raffle at our booth at the 2024 International Roofing Expo (IRE). The raffle was sponsored by General Coatings Manufacturing Corp. and the Roof Coatings Manufacturers Association (RCMA) who wanted to give contractors access to free roof coatings trainings. We randomly selected 14 winners from the huge collection of business cards we received at IRE 2024. 

The trainings are a part of RCMA’s Virtual Training Program, which consists of multiple modules that aim to provide roofing contractors with essential roof coatings knowledge. The modules in the program count as continuing education units (CEUs) for each module with the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and International Institute of Building Envelope Consultants (IIBEC). The program has three modules: Evaluating and Preparing Surfaces for Roof Coatings, Roof Coating Technologies and Roof Coating Application Best Practices. Each module is usually priced at $100. 

Will Lorenz, president of General Coatings, is a strong proponent of proper training for roofing contractors. When asked about the RCMA’s program, he said: “General Coatings is proud to support the RCMA Virtual Training Program and share this program with our customers so they too can enhance their coatings knowledge.”
