Participate in OSHA’s National Safety Stand-Down to prevent falls in construction this May 6-10, 2024. This is a voluntary event that allows your company to talk directly to your employees about safety. It’s as easy as scheduling a lunch, team meeting or other activity to have a toolbox talk, conduct safety equipment inspections, develop rescue plans or discuss job specific hazards. It’s meant to be an engaging opportunity to create a dialogue about the company’s safety policies, goals and expectations while allowing employees to bring up their own concerns about hazards and protective methods.
According to OSHA, 395 of the 1,069 construction fatalities recorded in 2022 were caused by falls from elevation. The National Safety Stand-Down raises fall hazard awareness across the country to help stop fall fatalities and injuries. Plan your company’s stand-down during the 11th Annual National Safety Stand-Down week and you can receive a certificate of participation from OSHA.
